about

This fourth volume of "Anomalies" music was produced generatively with the "Anomalies" software, designed by Michael Klaus Schmidt. The album cover features an image of an anomaly generated with the same software. When viewed with the software, anomalies are animated and produce sounds in real-time. The visuals and sounds are not always symmetrical or harmonious. This recording features just a small sample of what the software is capable of. The software is available on Steam: store.steampowered.com/app/546780

Now in Stereo! This is the first Anomalies record to be recorded in stereo. It also uses updated music sounds that are available in the free "Sights and Sounds" DLC package.

The future of art is in generative design. Traditional methods will always be there, and will always have their place, we're not talking about replacing anything, but the musicians of the future will have access to more varieties of music production, and this is where musical and artistic styles can reach out and grow. One way in which this is happening is in using software to produce an ever expanding catalog of sounds, rhythms and compositions which human musicians might never have attempted.
